Premier
Dalton McGuinty sent a letter to me dated March 2nd 2012
and in it he states that Jim Bradley, Minister of the Environment
will be responding to me directly. Jim Bradley makes the Premier out
to be a liar. Three letters have been forwarded to Minister Bradley,
one even hand delivered to his St. Catharines constituency office,
without a reply. We have a serious issue here in St. Catharines with
orange water discharged into a drainage ditch and to a storm run-off
sewer. Minister Bradley has had a letter sent to him asking whether
his Ministry of the Environment lied in a written response to me on
February 16th 2011. He has refused to answer, that letter
was dated February 1st 2012. Read More.

What Were They Elected For?
![]() |
| The Political Pirouette as performed by our Prima Ballerina Premier |
So
many times we linger in no-man's land after an election asking this
very question. Can any of us really answer it? Heck we elected them
didn't we, it had to be for a reason. Somewhere, somehow we had to
believe that the welfare of our community, of our Ontario would be a
serious consideration on their minds.
I
beg to differ and for that reason present a novel idea. Why can't we
have a form of buyers remorse after the election is over? You know
how it is when you buy something get it home and then reality crashes
in. Most times we have thirty days to return the darn thing with a
receipt. Maybe the colour was wrong, or you looked in the mirror and
thought you had a mental collapse in the store to have bought the
thing. Or simply you darn well can't really afford it and a refund
is what you need. Well it is the same concept for those we elect
that I propose. Read more

Should I Drink This Minister Bradley?
Environment Minister Jim Bradley has the Clean Water Act (CWA) 2006, the Ontario Resources Act (OWRA) and now the Water Opportunities and Water Conservation Act 2010, all at his disposal to protect our lakes and safeguard our fresh water supply, and even the habitats for the fishies. His government under the helm of Premier Dalton McGuinty has promised a bright new action plan specifically designed to protect our lakes titled the 'Great Lakes Protection Act (GLPA) by 2015 but that's only a promise and in the meantime what happens to our lakes is anybody's guess. It is turning out to be more complicated than a Shakespeare stage performance with all these 'acts'. Sadly Premier McGuinty nor his Environment Minister, in this production it is the 'rock' Jim Bradley, have any real desire to enforce any of these wonderfully worded documents. Shakespeare at least had devoted followers. READ MORE.

Ministry of Environment Order Ignored
An order issued by the Ministry of the Environment in February 2011 has been ignored by a business in St.Catharines, Ontario. A smash repair operator, Sam Demita who owns Sun Collision on Merritt Street had been ordered by MOE investigators to move damaged vehicles from his property line that abuts a public park and a neighbourhood. This order was issued so as to prevent the leaching of dangerous chemicals into the environment and a stormwater drainage system. The Environmental Commissioner of Ontario made a statement in his Annual Report Supplement 2010/2011, supporting the concern of leaching break fluid, antifreeze, and motor oil which may pollute water sources with ethylene glycol, heavy metals and petroleum distillates.
Photographs taken through intervals of several months apart during 2011 and into January 2012 show damaged vehicles remain at the property line. Sam Demita of Sun Collision has no desire to move the damaged vehicles, obey the instructions of the MOE, (who obviously have not monitored the property even though Sam Demita of Sun Collision had been found in an earlier investigation by MOE to have intentionally breached the EPA and Ontario Regulation #347 by burying illegal waste material such as hundreds of tonnes of asphalt) or care for the stormwater drainage system or a public park and neighbourhood. The City of St.Catharines has serious questions to answer in this situation revolving around the property where Sun Collision has been established. A full article is to be published on mayorgate.blogspot.com on the investigation that was refused and potential ramifications in 2012.
Now this issue rests is in the hands of the Minister for the Environment Jim Bradley. What will the minister do? How much abuse of our environmental legislation can be ignored by the McGuinty government? When will the MOE act? It is our future and in this case possibly our present, as with our water supply, that is at stake. What are you going to do Minister Jim Bradley? Read More

Minister for Municipal Affairs Wynne Called to Act
Ministry for Municipal Affairs and Housing administers the Ontario Building Code Act and all its regulations. The Building Official's Code of Conduct is an integral part of that act put in place to ensure appropriate standards of behaviour, enforcement actions, honesty and integrity among building officials. It is not hard to imagine the amount of power building inspectors can wield. A building inspector can prolong work on large and small projects adding cost and frustration. An unscrupulous inspector can turn a homeowner's life into a nightmare with stress. For that reason the Code of Conduct aims to “prevent practices which may constitute an abuse of power, including unethical or illegal practices, by building officials in the exercise of their power or the performance of their duties under the Ontario Building Code Act and Regulations and other applicable legislation.” Read More

WILL THE PREMIER FINALLY ACT?
Once again the law has been broken and abused in St.Catharines by its Mayor Brian McMullan. The details are alarming and all the information has been sent to Premier Dalton McGuinty. What will the Premier do to help enforce the laws that all of us are expected to abide by? All the facts have been revealed on Mayorgate regarding this issue and the author/publisher of Mayorgate has in turn had to face threat, harassment and intimidation from the CITY OF ST.CATHARINES only four days after publishing the facts. Minister Harinder Takhar, Ministry of Government Services, had been previously approached with details of massive abuse of powers by a municipal government, he ignored everything. The abuse by a municipality of power can never be permitted yet the McGuinty government seems to always walk away from their responsibility.

ENVIRONMENT MINISTER BRADLEY AVOIDS THE HARD QUESTIONS
Minister Jim Bradley in response to the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario's Annual Report quoted again dollar values, claiming the Liberal government increased environment spending. During the recent provincial election Minister Bradley when faced with questions of the horrific death toll in Niagara due to C.difficile responded with how much his government had increased spending for health and the new hospital in St. Catharines. He did not comment on the toll on families or the community. Again Minister Bradley as now the Environment Minister talks of money and avoids the questions. The Ministry of Environment claims that budget cuts stop them from doing their jobs effectively, that manpower is stretched too thin. How can that be the case if the Liberals have increased environmental spending. Here are direct questions asked of Environment Minister Jim Bradley regarding intentional and clear lack of enforcement of legislation. No more bragging of open purse policy simply answer the questions Minister Bradley, if you have the courage to.
